What do I mean by ‘Folk Art’?
A consider myself a part of the goth and punk subculture, participating in DIY and shows, I am a DJ on radio and in clubs, and make much of my own gear and clothing customization. Makeup and hair, such as the Deathhawk, with sideburn tails and teased style is a learned and revered skill in the goth culture. My makeup is inspired by trad goth and deathrock musicians and club goers of the 80s and 90s, and has many cultural signifiers and my own creative spins. The expression of my interests, favorite music groups and anarchist sentiment means a lot to me. I have a small cult following on Instagram, but am most involved in my local punk, goth, and drag club scene.
